The Bribery Act 2010 created a new corporate offence of failing to prevent bribery. The legislation is widely drafted and covers all ‘associated persons’. It is likely to have a significant impact on the construction industry as many construction projects have complex webs of relationships and include international operations, making them more vulnerable to bribery and corruption charges.

Under the 2004 EU Procurement Rules if a director of a company is convicted of bribery offences, the company can be barred from tendering for EU public contracts. This webinar will explore the complex relationship between procurement, competition and bribery in the light of the new law and other recent developments.
