Partnership Set to Improve Social Care Practice
The groundbreaking partnership between the Department of Health, the Social Care Institute for Excellence and Community Care will help turn policy into practice.
The partners are working together on a series of conferences, articles, supplements and surveys through 2008/9. These will explore key areas of the DH’s social care programme.
Topics to be covered include: dementia, adult protection, dignity, carers, personalisation including telecare), Valuing People, World Class Commissioning and prevention/early intervention.
The latter two are the subject of major national conferences during the autumn - with a supplement on World Class Commissioning to coincide with the conference on the same subject. It will include a summary of a high-level roundtable discussion on commissioning which forms part of the partnership.
The partnership should be a crucial tool in the promotion of change in frontline practice and cultural change across care services. It will also help build capacity in social services as care professionals seek to deliver that change.
