Agency Workers Regulations

Examining the impact of the new regulations and the obligations they impose on both agencies and employers

Introduction

This seminar will review the new Regulations, picking out the key problem areas. It will also look at the current law on the ability of agency workers to bring unfair dismissal and discrimination claims, and whether the Regulations may affect claims of this type.

The Government has announced that there will be no changes to the provisions of the Agency Workers Regulations 2010 and so they will come into force as drafted in October 2011. The Regulations will implement the Agency Workers Directive, the purpose of which is to give agency workers a right to equal treatment with their directly recruited counterparts.
