The Bribery Act 2010

Practical guidance on the employment law implications

Introduction

This half day conference will provide practical guidance on the new Bribery Act, its impact and the obligations it will impose on employers.

The Bribery Act will come into force in April 2011. It introduces rigorous new anti-corruption regulations that will affect all employers. The Act creates, amongst other things, the new corporate offence of failing to prevent bribery.

This means that companies are effectively vicariously liable for public and private sector bribery by an individual who performs services on behalf of the company, in some cases anywhere in the world.
