Maternity Paternity & Family Leave Rights

A comprehensive one-day seminar covering the current UK legal provisions and potential future changes

Introduction

Many employers find family leave rights complex and time consuming to understand – and yet they affect the majority of employees at one time or another.

The Government’s recently announced proposals to reform existing maternity and paternity leave and pay entitlements and to introduce shared (and paid) parental leave have thrown a spotlight on the area of family leave rights. The changes will not come into effect until 2015 but could have a number of implications for employers. In the meantime however, employers still need to know their way around the existing family leave entitlements.
