2009 saw record fines levied in competition law. Intel was fined €1.06 billion for abuse of dominance and this was followed by a total cartel fine of €1.06 billion levied on E.ON and GDF. The new ertical agreements block exemption regulations are due to come unto force in June and, following the organisational shake up at the Commission, their enforcement priorities may well change in 2010.
