Mental Health Law & Practice

Why attend this conference?

Butterworths is delighted to once again be hosting the annual Mental Health Law & Practice Conference. This timely conference will explore how the amended Mental Health Act is bedding down in practice. Specifically, the event will examine the current use of Community Treatment Orders, procedures in the new tribunal system and the new regulatory environment for providers of mental health services. Furthermore, the conference will tackle the controversial Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards provisions and discuss how these interact with the Mental Health Act and the Mental Capacity Act.

Chaired by David Hewitt of Weightmans LLP, this event features an array of expert speakers including prominent mental health law barristers. The event also features an opening keynote address from Baroness Hale of Richmond. Our expert speaker faculty will be able to guide you through the latest changes affecting this highly specialised sector.
