Child Care Law

Understand how to successfully unravel the legal and medical issues involved in complex child care cases

Introduction

For public law children practitioners, Butterworths’ Child Care Law Conference is the perfect opportunity to be brought up-to-date with the latest legislative and case law changes. From April 2011, the new Family Procedure Rules 2010 come into force, impacting on children cases in significant ways. At this timely event, Mike Hinchliffe of CAFCASS, a member of the Family Procedure Rule Committee, will analyse how the changes translate into practice. Other changes that this conference will explore in-depth include the recent Supreme Court judgment in ZH (Tanzania) v SSHD [2011] on the protection of children’s rights and the revised Guidance on Adoption and Children Act 2002.

Care proceedings often involve a significant amount of medical evidence. We have assembled a panel of leading medical experts to provide you with the clinical perspective on evaluating sexual abuse allegations and to take you through the increasingly contentious and controversial area of non-accidental injuries.
