Paterson'S Licensing Law

Get to grips with the latest regulatory developments affecting the politically contentious worlds of gambling and liquor licensing

Introduction

The Police Reform and Social Responsibility Bill looks set to radically overhaul the Licensing Act 2003. At the heart of the new Bill is the Government’s belief that ‘local communities should have a greater role in determining local licensing’.

The new Bill aims to increase the powers for both local authorities and police, lowering the threshold for regulatory intervention and proposes making local authorities, PCTs and Local Health Boards act as responsible authorities.

As well as considering all the changes arising from the Bill, this conference will provide you with a concise update on the latest case law developments and examine the latest trends in enforcement and prosecutions.
