Booking Conditions
Booking conditions for all conferences, workshops, training courses and breakfast briefings, hereinafter referred to as the “Event”. (Please note special booking conditions apply for webinars and are shown towards the bottom of this page).
VENUE
The venue for the Event is subject to change without notice and is only confirmed when joining instructions (final conference details and a venue location map) are sent to delegates by email, usually around two weeks prior to the event. In the event of a change of venue from that originally advertised or confirmed in the joining instructions, LexisNexis will make every effort to provide an appropriate alternative venue within a reasonable distance of the location originally advertised for the Event. LexisNexis will not issue refunds for cancellations relating to changes to a confirmed venue. LexisNexis will not issue any compensation or refunds in relation to increased travel or accommodation costs incurred by delegates or participants in an Event as the result of a change in venue.
FEE
Each delegate’s one day fee includes attendance, refreshments, lunch and course documentation. In the case of half-day events lunch costs are not included unless specifically stated as being included in the individual Event literature. No accommodation costs are included in the delegate fee, and it is the delegate’s responsibility to provide their own accommodation if required (for example if participating in a two-day event). Full payment, including VAT if applicable, must be received by LexisNexis prior to the Event. If payment remains outstanding at the commencement of the Event the delegate may be asked to settle the outstanding amount by personal credit card or cash payment before being admitted to the Event. If payment is not made, LexisNexis reserves the right to refuse entry to the delegate. If a delegate is refused entry, the outstanding delegate fee will still be due to LexisNexis under the cancellation terms detailed below.
If paying by cheque please return your completed registration form by post to LexisNexis Conferences, Halsbury House, 35 Chancery Lane, London WC2A 1EL. Alternatively you can pay online using our secure payment system.
Once payment has been received a VAT invoice/receipt will be sent. If paying by cheque fees must be paid in UK Sterling from a UK bank account. Payment for invoices will not be accepted in US dollars, Euros or currencies other than UK Sterling.
OUR CONFIRMATION OF YOUR BOOKING
All bookings will be acknowledged in writing within five working days of their receipt or by email if booking and paying online. If booking and paying on line you will receive an initial email confirming receipt of payment shortly after the transaction has taken place. You will receive a second email confirming your order number within two working days of the order being placed. If requesting payment on invoice or on account, you will receive confirmation of your order by email once the invoice has been raised or the order has been placed on your account. Joining instructions (final conference details and a venue location map) will be emailed to delegates approximately two weeks before the event. Please telephone the Bookings Enquiries line immediately:
• if you have not received written acknowledgement of your booking within 7 days of sending it by fax, post or email or
• if you have not received your joining instructions five days before the event

WEBINARS TERMS AND CONDITIONS <top>
Access to Webinar Services
1 We will send you a link to access the live webinar with confirmation of your order. If you have ordered a multiple user booking, it is your responsibility to distribute the link to the additional users within your organisation.
2 All reasonable efforts will be made to ensure the webinars take place on the advertised date and time. In the event that the webinar does not take place, an alternative date/time will be substituted. LexisNexis Butterworths reserves the right to substitute speakers where events beyond our reasonable control prevent the speakers from appearing. There will be no right to any refund or cancellation in these circumstances.
3. We use leading technology to deliver streamed video access to the seminars, which is compatible with most internet browsers. We are not liable, and are not obliged to waive the seminar fees, if you cannot view the seminars due to firewalls, other hardware or software issues within your organisation, or failure of any technology used by you. We provide a free test site and it is your responsibility to check that our technology works on your systems.
4. We offer the option of access to a recording of the webinar after the ‘live’ webinar has taken place. If you take this option, the recording will normally be available within two working days of the webinar taking place, and will remain available for at least 6 months. No liability, other than a refund of any specific fee for this option for those with individual webinar bookings, is accepted if access to the recording ceases to be available during this period. There will be no such right to any refund for those who have booked streams of multiple webinars.
5. Copyright in all materials remains vested in LexisNexis or in the webinar speakers.
Continuing Professional Development
6. The webinars are accredited as a distance learning course by the Law Society of England and Wales and by the General Council of the Bar for England and Wales. The award of the CPD hours is subject to satisfactory completion of multiple-choice questions at the conclusion of the seminar. The multiple-choice questions will be available as part of the recorded event.
Distribution of Access Links
7. The fee paid covers access to the webinar (or to the streamed recording) for all users that you have registered with us. It is your responsibility to distribute any links we send you to other users.
8 You consent to us monitoring the number of computers which access the webinar (or the streamed recording) and their IP addresses in order to ensure that the access URL has not been distributed beyond those authorised to view the webinar under this agreement.
Cancellation
9. Subscribers to a series of 10 webinars have the option to cancel the remaining webinars in the series at any time, provided they do so in writing to conferences@lexisnexis.co.uk. A refund for the original price paid for the series will be issued after deduction of the applicable price for a single webinar for the specified number of users multiplied by the number of webinars that had been transmitted in the series prior to the notice of cancellation being received and less £25 administration fee. Delegates who have purchased the option to view a single webinar may cancel and receive a full refund up to 48 hours before transmission of the specified webinar less £25 administration fee. Cancellations will not be accepted less than 48 hours before transmission of the webinar. All cancellations must be received in writing to conferences@lexisnexis.co.uk. Delegates may substitute a different delegate to view the webinar in their place at any time before transmission of the webinar, but they must email conferences@lexisnexis.co.uk to inform us of the substitution prior to passing log on details to the substitute delegate.
